DESCRIPTION OF BACHELOR PROGRAM

Bachelor

The bachelor degree program in Department of Naval Architecture was formed in 1960 and currently holds the highest accreditation of A from ‘Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi’ (BAN-PT). Now,  the proses of obtaining accreditation from ASEAN University Network (AUN-QA) is in process.

This program requires a total of 144 credits to be completed within 8 semesters. It is divided into the preparation phase which has 36 credits scheduled for 2 semesters and the undergraduate phase which has 108 credits scheduled for 6 semesters. During the preparation phase, students are equipped with a basic general knowledge class, basic science class and Fundamentals of Naval Architecture. During the undergraduate phase, students are equipped with an Introduction to Basic Engineering, Introduction to Speciality and Employability Skills which will be for their core profession along with practical assignments and design projects. Their final project (dissertation) is the peak of the undergraduate program which could range from design, research or an analytical theory regarding a current issue.

The title achieved upon graduation is ‘Sarjana Teknik’ (S.T.)/ Bachelore of Engineering (B.Eng.) which is usually completed within 4 years or 8 semesters. Graduates of Naval Architecture master the principal knowledge and naval architecture engineering to solve current global issues in the maritime industry especially ship designing, ship building and maintenance to ensure efficient operations. Graduates of this program have the competency of that written by ‘Capain Pembelajaran Lulusan’ (CPL).

Master the theoretical concepts of engineering sciences, engineering principles, and engineering design required for the analysis, design, and manufacture of vessels and other floaters;
